Questions and answers

Practical answers about planning weddings and private events in Cyprus and across Europe.

How far in advance should I plan an event?

A wedding is best planned 9–12 months ahead, and earlier if it takes place abroad or in peak season (in Cyprus, spring and autumn). An anniversary or large private party needs 2–4 months, a private dinner 3–6 weeks. The more complex the concept and decor, the more time custom pieces need. If your date is closer, DEFABRIK does everything possible to give you the best service in a short time: tell us the date and we will say honestly what can be done.

Which stages of a wedding can be planned in advance?

Almost all of them, in roughly this order: date and budget, guest list, venue, concept and style, decor and floristry, program and schedule, vendors (catering, photo and video, music), invitations, the timeline of the day and a final walkthrough. Decor and floristry are best settled right after the venue, because they depend on the space.

Can I order complex or custom decor?

Yes. DEFABRIK works with artists and craftspeople around the world, so unusual installations, handmade elements and large-scale scenery are possible. They need time for design, production and delivery, so the earlier we start, the more is possible.

Can I hold a wedding or celebration in Cyprus if I live abroad?

Yes. Much of the planning can be done remotely through calls and online approvals, and the team is on site for the event itself. Legal requirements for a wedding in Cyprus depend on your citizenship and the type of ceremony, so check them with the municipality or a licensed officiant early.

When is the best time to hold an event in Cyprus?

Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) are the most popular: warm without extreme heat. Summer is hot, so evening ceremonies work best. Winter is mild and quieter, which suits intimate dinners and parties.

What information is needed to start planning?

The date or a range of dates, the place or city, an approximate number of guests, the type of event, a rough budget and a few words about what you want your guests to feel. A partial brief is enough: we begin with a conversation.

Can I order only decor, without full organization?

Yes. Decor can be ordered on its own, or together with the organization of the whole event.

Are private events kept confidential?

Yes. We prepare every event individually and treat all details, guest lists and personal information as confidential.
